These fittings are Sch 40 PVC Reducer Bushings have SLIP x SLIP on both ends (no threads, pipe slips inside). Insert Schedule 40 pipe fittings and glue to seal and secure fitting. The large pipe slips over the large end of the bushing and the smaller diameter pvc pipe fits inside the opposite end of the reducer bushing allowing you to step down from pipe sizes easily.
